Access Bars The Basics Explained
Posted by Julie D. Mayo

Access Bars is a body process that involves lightly touching specific points on the head known as "The Bars." This non-invasive holistic technique creates a positive neurological effect for the recipient, releasing energetic blockages, limitations and limited beliefs.
Access Bars are part of the personal development modality called Access Consciousness, a system of tools and processes to help change any area of your life where you feel stuck.
Access Bars is recommended for individuals seeking relaxation, stress reduction and increased mental clarity. It can be beneficial for anyone, regardless of age or health condition.
Some individuals find that it helps them gain new perspectives, access new possibilities, and approach challenges with greater ease. It is sometimes utilized by business coaches, facilitators, or individuals seeking personal growth within the business realm.
It's important to note that the effectiveness and impact of Access Bars can vary from person to person, and it is considered a complementary approach rather than a substitute for professional advice or treatment.

Dr. Terrie Hope, PhD, DNM, Neuroscientist has dedicated more than 12 years to researching Access Bars®. Dr. Hope explains how an Access Bars session works and the effect of The Bars® on the brain and changes seen in people with stress, burnout and sleep problems.
The World Health Organization has classified stress as an epidemic.
There's a change in brain volume, cognition and memory as a result of stress. So it leaves people in a place where they're functioning less.
I've been doing scientific research on Access Bars for over 12 years. The results that I've seen from an Access Bars session is uniquely different than what you’d normally see in any clinical or research setting, because Access Bars changes the client physiologically, neurologically and psychologically all at once. Dramatic changes are seen that you would never see with a singular process.
Access Bars is this process where a practitioner lightly touches specific points on the client's head. It creates this bar of energy and this new energy field, and with that, the brainwave patterns begin to slow down. And what you will see is brainwave patterns going from highly stressed to low beta or even delta.
What happens when people are stressed is they don't get the deep sleep that they require. They don't get regeneration. They seldom get to a place where the toxins in the brain actually get released. The levels that are there don't regenerate. So things like muscle stress - muscles can't grow when people aren’t sleeping. The challenge when people are stressed, they tend not to sleep. They don't get into these deep cycles that people see when you have Access Bars sessions.
The research I completed with my colleague, Dr. Jeffrey Fannin, shows our study observing what Access Bars does in the brain. What occurred for 89% of the people was a change in brainwave patterns.
The first thing that we saw was this high activation at one-hertz (1 Hz) delta, which is considered one of the deep sleep brainwave patterns. So these people weren't asleep, and yet they had this high degree of activation at one-hertz delta. This shows us people are actually getting regeneration and a high level of relaxation when receiving an Access Bars session.
The other thing that we saw is that 89% of the people had an increase in brainwave coherence. What that means is that the brainwaves have a chance to have a greater degree of connectivity between regions, and optimal functioning. So the connection and disconnection, which would normally be seen, becomes an optimal state. What this does for people is that they have a higher degree of focus concentration memory and a higher degree of creativity.
Two scientific studies that were done showed a deregulation pattern, seen as a blue and red pattern being deregulated. After one 90 minute Bars session the brain returned to normal in a person who had already had every intervention possible to be able to change their deregulation.
There are no side effects to a Bars session. Even those who are pregnant, or have a pacemaker can have an Access Bars session. An Access Bars session is generally 30 minutes to two hours, depending on what the person desires. The brilliance of that is that there is little or no recovery time required. People can actually return to their normal activities or work immediately following an Access Bars session.
Large corporations who have instituted Access Bars into their wellbeing program, have reported back that people are taking less sick days, and management states that there are higher degrees of productivity and creativity amongst employees.
In conclusion, as a scientist, from all the data I’ve collected over the years, I would highly recommend using Access Bars, either in addition to what you’re currently using for stress, or where you see it appropriate.
